The Magical World of Disney+

Amilia Johnson, Staff Writer

Do you remember the countless hours of your childhood you spent watching Disney shows such as “Phineas and Ferb” or “Gravity Falls?” If you do, then you probably also remember how sad you were when these shows of your childhood came to an end and even worse when the reruns stopped playing on TV. Many of these older shows are now back thanks to Disney+.

Disney+ is an on-demand, ad-free streaming service created by The Walt Disney Company that can be used on Apple devices, Android devices as well as Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, Smart TVs Roku TV, Roku streaming devices, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Desktop web browsers such as Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. There is however one downside to the service so far, it cost $6.99 a month, but is still less than the cheapest Netflix subscription.

The streaming service was released on Nov. 12, 2019 with nearly 500 films and 7,500 TV episodes from the Disney Channel as well as from company properties like Marvel and Star Wars. Shows on the service include the previously mentioned  “Phineas and Ferb” and “Gravity Falls” as well as shows like “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” “The Simpsons,” “Hannah Montana,” and movies such as “Freaky Friday,” “The Parent Trap,” and “The Princess Diaries.” All these titles and more will give you a blast from the past provided by Disney+.
