This year has been a successful season for the boys soccer team having a 12-2-3 record and many accomplishments. They also made a great playoff run with 2 postseason wins.

The boys soccer team ended the regular season with a memorable win over Austintown Fitch which gave them great momentum heading into the playoffs. They started off the playoffs by beating Massillon Washington 7-1 in the first round of sectional play. In the second round, the boys soccer team put up an upset in the sectional championships by defeating Canton Glenoak 2-1. This was a big win for the soccer team. “We had a great mindset going into the game and we knew that we were gonna come through strong and that’s what we did”, said junior, Tommy Fryda. After this win their playoff run came to an end by losing to Massillon Jackson. “We had a great season and played the best we could have so the last thing I could be is disappointed on the way things turned out. I believe we played at are highest potential and never gave up so I’d say it was a great season”, said senior, Jwad Eleyan.

The Spartans had a successful young team this year and are hungry to make another playoff run next year. “We are having a lot of retiring varsity players coming back and we will have a lot of experience in the field and be a better overall team”, stated Fryda. The Spartans will have 10 seniors on the team next year.
