With a loss to Canfield in the district championship on May 17, the Lady Spartans end their season with a 12-10 record.

After earning the #3 seed, the softball team went 2-1 in the playoffs getting key wins against aurora and Twinsburg to make it to the finals. In the sectional championship the Lady Spartans defeated Twinsburg 3-2. The girls then went on to beat Aurora 13-4 in the district semi-finals to punch their ticket to the Finals against Canfield.

The girls lost in the district championship to long time rival Canfield 4-2 ending their season. They finished the season with a 10-9 regular season record and 12-10 overall. Junior Paige Dill said, “ I think the season went really well, with so many young girls and a new coaching staff we definitely did a lot better than we thought we would.”

Next season, the team will be losing three key seniors in Lauren Gabriele, Ashley Cornelius and Lauren Pavlansky. With the loss of these seniors, the team will be returning seven starters including three year starter Paige Dill.

“I think next year will be a good year because we have so many talented players returning. I have really high hopes for us,” said Dill.
